Thomas Edison’s holiday toy and pajama drive provides new, unopened toys and pajamas to young patients. This is normally done in December where the donations are taken to a designated room.
HOSA is sponsoring this event in collaboration with Skills USA, NHS, NTHS, Key Club, SCA, and NYSSHS. This is HOSA’s 2nd annual toy/pajama drive at New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens!
This year’s Toy Drive was a huge accomplishment as there were many donations, enough to give out to hundreds of children! Members, staff, and students came together to complete this special event.
The event was “very successful” according to Dhanesh Persaud, a member of SkillsUSA. Things went as planned and the main goal was accomplished. “We were able to donate about 4,000 toys and clothes all together to kids who are in need of them”, Persaud said.
The Toy Drive is something many people look forward to during the school year. This year’s Toy Drive went smoothly. Edison students are looking forward to more successful Toy Drives in the following years. Let us applaud our Edison Organizations for coordinating this critical effort throughout the holiday season!
