The seniors of 2026 have overcome challenges, achieved important milestones, and experienced countless moments that shaped their high school journey. All of these experiences show the strength, growth, and legacy they will leave behind as they move on to the next chapter of their lives.

Over these four years, our seniors at Edison have learned, grown, and faced new challenges in their classrooms, activities, and communities. Their experiences show how today’s students adapt, support one another, and find their own paths. Understanding their journey matters because this moment marks a major step as they prepare to leave high school and move toward their future. They will be graduating soon with a lot of experiences that will shape the future that is ahead of them.

With graduation drawing near, many feel low-spirited about saying goodbye, yet eager for what lies ahead.

“I feel sad because I’m leaving this school that I’ve been at for years and all the friends I’ve met and were all going our separate ways. I am excited for college because it’s going to be a new experience like a new campus, I get to meet new people, and I get to study what I want,” Michelle Wong said.

Many have mixed feelings about graduating soon and are looking forward to their college years. However, they have done many significant accomplishments and events this year that helped gain skills to be prepared for upcoming challenges and events that can occur in the future.

“I was able to join the volleyball team, and I gained a lot of friends through that. I also made a lot of memories, especially my senior year. I love the team. They made me feel so special because I was one of the seniors and I loved that,” Rihanna Qiu said.

Being able to experience certain events and successfully accomplish goals is really an inspiration that our seniors have applied to the under-classmen. It also shows how success doesn’t happen overnight, but it comes from the patience, effort, and diligence that an individual may have. Seeing how much the seniors have accomplished doesn’t just inspire us. It also reminds many people that the underclassmen will one day be in their position. Their hard work and leadership show what’s possible when you stay focused and make good choices throughout high school.

“Start putting yourself out there is something that’s really useful to everyone and to kind of take the risk. If you want to take an elective or an AP class in that sense, then try to go for it, try to contact your guidance, and don’t be afraid to contact your guidance or APs. I’ve seen people switch their schedules around a lot to get the classes they want and limiting yourself to only the court curriculum is kind of disheartening because there’s so much more out there that you can explore, like your interest with APs,” Jayron Salazar said.
