How Do You Play? The 2015 Game Awards

         On Thursday, December 3rd the 2015 Game Awards took place in Los Angeles, California. The Game Awards are produced by Geoff Keighley with the main purpose celebrating the very best games of 2015. In addition to that, world premieres of the games 2016 holds are also shown along with musical performaces by deadmau5, the Canadian house music producer and performer and CHVRCHES, the Scottish electronic band.
         2015 held without a doubt some of the best games ever created, making this years Game Awards a sight to see. The game awards could have been streamed from any device including gaming consoles, PC, and mobile devices. But to actually attend the event in Los Angeles costs $20 per event pass. Now comes the fun stuff, though it was a tough choice this year with such an amazing game lineup, Game of the Year turned out to be none other than the Witcher 3! In response, Zaheer Hossain said, “Fallout 4 deserved the Game of the Year award much more than the Witcher. Fallout was highly anticipated and when it actually came out, it was amazing. Lots of detail was put into the story and the actual gameplay.”

          While it’s highly important to highlight the success of gaming in 2015, it is also in all gamers best interests to pay attention to the upcoming releases of 2016. The Game Awards showcased the world premieres of the Batman Telltale Series, The Walking Dead: Michonne Telltale Series, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Far Cry: Primal, Rock Band VR for Oculus Rift and many more. Aaron Alli says “I’m actually excited for whats to come in 2016 for gamers despite my lack of interest in videogames the last few years.”
         The 2015 Game Awards proved to be an amazing show with breakthrough announcements for the gaming world. With the gaming population being so large, The Game Awards has proven more than satisfactory as the main gaming awards event. With videogames steadily evolving as the years go on, make sure you’re on the lookout for the 2016 game awards and many more to come!
