The Edison Light is the official student newspaper of Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical Education High School, produced by the talented students of the Journalism Program with the support of Principal Moses Ojeda, Assistant Principal Patricia Minogue, and Advisor Noreen Fitzgerald-Makar. Our team represents a wide range of backgrounds, all brought together by a shared passion for storytelling.
Our mission is to inform, connect, and inspire the Edison community through accurate reporting, engaging features, and creative multimedia. This website is our platform to share the stories that matter—highlighting school news, student life, achievements, sports, arts, and culture—with insight, curiosity, and heart.
The Edison Light is the student news site of Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical Education High School in Queens. The Edison Light was founded in the fall of 2011 in the inaugural journalism elective class.
The Edison Light is an open forum for the expression of student views. The opinions expressed therein should not be taken to represent those of the Thomas A. Edison CTE High School administration, faculty, or student body as a whole.
The Edison Light invites members of the community to comment on stories. All comments are moderated by The Edison Light editors.

The Edison Light does not allow anonymous comments and requires a valid email for verification (email will not be published).
