Smorgasburg is a collection of open markets on Saturdays at East River State Park in Williamsburg and on Sundays in Prospect Park at Breeze Hill where anyone can come and enjoy food from the various vendors outdoors. Some of their vendors include #Baonanas which specializes in banana pudding served by the scoop, Big Mozz: Pizza with hand stretched mozzarella for their Neapolitan pizza and BrunchStreet which serves quail eggs on a skewer. Those are just some of the new additions to the many delicious vendors Smorgasburg already had to offer!
Some of the previous vendors include Four Sigmatic which makes mushroom coffee, hot cocoa, and tea, Oni Sauce which makes home style Japanese food and Pioneer Cannery which serves pickles, jams, mustards, hot sauces and garnishes. With so many options to try so much foods just a train stop away, anyone can say they’ve tasted foods from around the world!
Tasmiya Hossain, alumni who graduated in 2016 said, “It’s a great place to visit with friends and try the different foods while sitting outdoors and enjoying the weather. Especially, during Spring Break and meeting up with old friends! The foods are definitely affordable and have really unique snacks.”
With summer vacation coming up, this is a great place to visit on the weekends and bring your family or friends to try these amazing foods and enjoy the views of the park. Senior, Charles Griffin said, “I already have plans to visit this food fair with my friends before we start college. It’s part of our daily plans to explore the city this summer!”
