The design of the dragon captured the full essence of a real one from the Naris and mandible to the caudal spade. You tend to forget that the masterpiece was actual crafted from pumpkins.” Each display has a purpose and means something to the Hudson Valley area. The Circus Train rolled through the Hudson Valley during the 1800’s and the Pumpkin Planetarium represents the 17th and 18th century settlers who depended on the stars to find civilization. But with the great pumpkin displays the Van Cortlandt Manor alongside the Croton River. This historic building has been in included in the pumpkin display. In the 1700’s this house was owned by the Van Cortlandt family and used as an example of a colonial home.
