The crack of the bat is back and so is the energy around the softball field. After a long offseason, the team is finally back out there ready to compete. From the way they’ve started it is clear they are coming in focused and ready to prove themselves.
This year’s team is a mix of returning players and new faces and that combination is already shaping how the season is going. Experienced players are stepping up as leaders while newer players are bringing fresh energy and learning quickly which is creating a strong balance across the team.
For many players the season has been about more than just the game it has been about the connections being built along the way.
“The best part of this team so far has been meeting new people and seeing other work ethics come together it was just a lot of fun,” said Leanny Luna Diaz (#10). The team has been able to bond and build chemistry which has helped create a more connected and supportive environment on the field.
New players are also finding their place within the team.
“Softball season has been great I’ve met great people on this team and made new connections,” said Niyah Panchu (#1).

As a newer member her experience reflects how welcoming the team has been and how that has helped players feel comfortable while still adjusting and improving.
That support carries into how the team handles challenges during games.
“We’re really good at uplifting people and showing that you shouldn’t give up,” Leanny said. This highlights the positive energy that keeps the team motivated even when things get difficult.
Small traditions like wearing eye black before games also help build unity and school pride giving the team something that connects them every time they step onto the field.
Behind the scenes the focus has been on growth and consistency.
“It’s definitely a learning season but so far I’m happy with the team. They’re working hard,” said Coach Sabella.
With a roster full of new players the season has been centered on development, learning from mistakes and improving with each game while continuing to build confidence as a group.
As the season continues the softball team is not just focused on wins and losses but on growth and connection. With every practice and every game they are getting stronger together and proving that this group has real potential beyond just this season.
