Summer is right around the corner and kicking it off with bright lights, thrilling rides, and the sweet smell of funnel cake.
The Astoria Park Carnival is back only for a short period of time! The treasure annual event is happening under the RFK Bridge. It goes on from June 4th to June 8th, and it is completely free of charge
The carnival usually lasts from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM on the weekdays and then from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM on the weekends. As stated before, entry is completely FREE! The tickets are however $1.50 each and each ride is between 3-6 tickets.
This year the carnival brings lots of new rides such as Zeus and Flash Dance for people who are brave enough to try it.
There are many different food options offered at the carnival so you better expect all of your favorites such as cotton candy, corn dogs, and fried oreos. Furthermore there are a lot of class carnival games like ring toss and balloon darts.

This is a great chance to support the local vendors, enjoy the weather, and unwind before school ends.
Some of our very own students have already gone to the carnival and here is what they have to say about it:
“It’s fun, but the lines can be long. I got there around 8:00 PM and I barely got to go on any of the rides due to the amount of people.” – James C, Grade 12
“The carnival caught my attention as it’s really flashy and looks exciting. Some of the rides, especially the zipper, felt unsafe as they kept on getting stuck and it terrified me” – Lynette O, Grade 12
Whether you are there for the games, rides, or even just the vibes, the Astoria Park Carnival is a chance to celebrate the end of the school year and also the community in Queens.
